Win — Orthopaedic Surgeon, inventor, undeniable savant.
Dr. Win Chang, M.D. has recently retired from 27 years of private clinical practice as a shoulder and total joint reconstructive specialist. He is a former Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases where he was also fellowship trained in Bio-engineering.
Currently Dr. Chang travels the world extensively teaching physical therapists, athletes and coaches on a novel rotator cuff exercise device that he invented, the ShoulderSphere. Shortly after creating his device he received the 2016 INPEX Gold Medal Award for the most innovative invention in the field of health sciences.
ShoulderSphere is a globally recognized rotator cuff specific training and rehabilitation device used by physiotherapy centers and athletic training facilities throughout the U.S. and more than 35 other countries around the world.
Internationally recognized athletes that have trusted ShoulderSphere for their sports performance and rehabilitations include former New York Yankees superstar CC Sabathia, former world No. 1 Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova, five-time American Olympic swim gold medalist Nathan Adrian, UFC 241 Middleweight Champion Paulo Costa and Polish Badminton Paralympian from Tokyo 2020 Bartlomiej Mroz to name a few.
Dr. Chang graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry with Distinction in Research. He also experienced additional trainings at the UCLA Medical Center, Hospital for Joint Diseases, and the Mayo Clinic.
Prior to his career as a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, he worked as a primary care medical doctor on the Crow Indian Reservation near Custer Battlefield in Montana where he also flew air ambulance rescues.
Dr. Chang has authored many articles, and contributed to book chapters related to shoulder reconstruction and fracture biomechanics. He has given many presentations nationally and internationally, as well as being the recipient of many awards for outstanding research.
